MODATEX embraced a new partnership, this time around with the IgualPro Project promoted by CITE - Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment.
The IgualPro Project – jobs have no gender - is a research-action project aimed at fighting gender segregation in the educational and vocational choices of girls and boys and the consequent segregation of their professional choices, through the deconstruction of gender stereotypes associated with different study areas and their respective jobs, focusing mainly on those in which this phenomenon is more prominent.
The initiative, with the total duration of 36 months, is in line with the strategic objective no. 2 "To ensure the conditions for full and equal participation of women and men in the labour market and in professional activities, with a special focus on the specific objective: 2.1.3. “Development of initiatives, information sessions and projects that fight sexual segregation in jobs", planned in the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030 - "Portugal + Equal", in which the elimination of stereotypes is assumed as a central concern in the Action Plan for Equality between Women and Men 2018-2021.
Besides MODATEX, the project established a partnership with eight other entities, seven national and one Norwegian, directly linked to this topic, namely: CES – Centre for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra; AFP – Association for Family Planning; IEFP – Institute for Employment and Vocational Training, IP; CECOA – Vocational Training Centre for Commerce and Related Fields of Study; CINEL – Professional Training Centre for the Electronics, Energy, Telecommunications and Information Technologies Industry; CENFIM – Professional Training Centre for the Metallurgical and Metal-Mechanical Industry; INETE – Institute of Technical Education; and, at last, Odal Naeringshage Utvikling AS.
