ERASMUS+ FASHION AND PERFORMANCE

Costumes have a symbolic meaning in all shows. They can represent an imaginary, such as social roles. This project aims to study the concept of "dream" and the influence entertainment has in the fashion industry and also the influence that street fashion has on entertainment over time.

Following on from previous collaborations, within the scope of the Comenius programme, eight schools and training centres were brought together with a common topic and area of activity, training in the area of Fashion and Clothing.

Partners

  • LP Octave Feuillet (França – Paris)
  • MODATEX (Portugal)
  • Liceo Artistico Enzo Rossi (Itália – Roma)
  • Lycée Turquetil (França – Paris)
  • Ins Anna Gironella de Mundet (Espanha – Barcelona)
  • IPSIA Primo Levi (Itália – Parma)
  • OSZ Bekleidung und Mode (Alemanha – Berlim)
  • The Billericay School (Reino Unido – Billericay)

The partnership ensures students and teachers keep in contact during the three years of the project, with the objective of fine-tuning the relationship between fashion and entertainment in its different manifestations: circus, cabaret, cinema, dance, theatre, music hall, the burlesque, etc. Among the objectives set forth by this partnership, besides strengthening the relationship between Fashion and Entertainment, it aims to:

  • Explore and understand the symbolic content of Fashion
  • Share cultural and linguistic content
  • Improve the way the characteristics of clothing for the entertainment industry are perceived
  • Give people the option of facing the area of costume design as a professional choice
  • Distinguish between teaching methods in different European realities
  • Increase awareness of the need to prepare students for professional practice in Europe (and not only locally)

Essentially practical in nature and integrated into the training curricula of the different partner entities, the intention is to approach this topic in different workshops and seminars, with the objective of executing a set of coordinates to be presented in a show at the end of the project, showing everyone a concrete example of everyone’s performance.

Fashion and Performance is a European project funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme, with a duration of 36 months, from September 2016 to August 2019.
